That's where cultural linguistics and verbal pattern analysis comes into play. It gets to the point where one can determine true countries of origin.

There are other techniques that I'd like to share, but that would be best accomplished by LETS101 e-mail, instead of broadcasting on scrapbook.

One radio comedy act would be to "open a school for scammers" . It could start with a 30-sec "phony spot" and grow into a live running dialog. Currently, I have a major alternative energy project and an alternative party to run, so I won't get to it for awhile...

Psychology, linguistics, demographics and cultural anthropology are useful methods in detecting scammers.

Unfortunately, the ones who look like supermodels usually have the highest chance of fitting the category.

Demographic/linguistic disparities are dead giveaways.

Busting scammers can be fun and there is even a scambusters website out there...
